I’ve used Pyrex glass bakeware as long as I can remember. I love seeing the food smiling at me through the glass. It increases the yummy factor X 100, I think.
Recently, some concerns about the safety of glass cookware have been raised. They say that Pyrex is using a different formula than they did years ago. Since I’ve never had any issues with my glassware – and it is all very old – I’ll keep using it. My pans are very, very heavy. Because I’ve noticed that the newer pans don’t seem as sturdy, when I’ve wanted another pan, I’ve always resorted to scanning second-hand stores for them.
By the way… did you know that second-hand stores are a great source for purchasing kitchenware (and small appliances) for a steal of a deal? I’ve bought popcorn poppers, waffle makers, food processors and more at second-hand stores.
